According to the size range of peeled wood segments, peeling machines can be divided into three types: large, medium and small. Large peeling machines can peel wood segments with a length of 2000-2700mm and a diameter of 1600mm; medium peeling machines can peel wood segments with a length of 1350-1950mm and a diameter of 200-800mm; small peeling machines peel wood segments with a length of less than 1000mm and a diameter of less than 400mm.
According to the driving mode of the main motion, peeling machines can be divided into spindle drive type and outer circle drive type. Spindle drive type can be divided into mechanical clamping type and hydraulic clamping type according to different clamping wood structures. Mechanical clamping shaft peeling machine is a single clamping shaft peeling machine, which has a simple structure and is easy to maintain, but the operation labor intensity is high and the board output rate is low. It is more used in small and medium-sized enterprises. Hydraulically clamped clamping shafts are divided into single clamping shafts and double clamping shafts. Hydraulic double-clamping shaft peeling machine has high automation, convenient operation, small wood core diameter, high board output rate and good veneer quality. It is mainly used in large and medium-sized enterprises. The wood segment in the non-clamping shaft peeling machine is centered and driven by the friction roller. Its wood core diameter is the smallest and the board output rate is the highest. It is mainly used for re-peeling of the wood core.
According to whether the wood segment rotates around its own axis, the peeling machine can be divided into concentric peeling and eccentric peeling. In the eccentric peeling machine, the wood segment can be clamped by the clamping shaft or by the clamping beam. The eccentric peeling machine can obtain beautiful radial patterns, but the productivity is lower than that of the concentric peeling machine. At present, the technologically advanced peeling machine adopts constant linear speed cutting, hydraulic double clamping shaft and mechanical centering or laser centering technology, so that the peeling line speed of the peeling machine reaches 3m/s; the quality of the veneer is greatly improved; the minimum veneer thickness of the peeling reaches 0.25mm, and there are more than 50 specifications.
